The Face of bartending is changing as are the tastes of your customers. The era of "mixers" is over and we're entering a new era dominated by cocktails with sophistication, balance, and complexity. No where else is that more prevalent than right here in San Francisco. SFSOB wants to provide you with the knowledge you'll need to enter this era at the ground level. It's an EXCITING time to be a bartender!
Learn advanced techniques in creating cocktails with speed and efficiency. You'll receive a historical breakdown of alcohol in human endeavors, prohibition and its aftermath, and the new revolution in trends and methodologies. We'll cover these points and more:
When to stir and when to shake and why
Creating cocktails in chords base/modifier/accent
Building cocktails properly (i.e. pouring Cheap vs. Expensive)
How to properly stir
Different kinds of ice and how to use them differently and why
Bitters, their role and use
Tinctures, syrups, and emulsions

Balance in cocktails
How to taste spirits (Acid, wood, sugar..etc.)

The price point is set as $99.00 and will include a large variety of fine spirits to taste and use to create your cocktails while training behind the bar at Infusion Lounge. You also get a take home bar tool kit:
Shaker tin, Mixing glass, UK Stir Spoon, Hawthorn and Julep Strainer.
Classes occur on Mar. 14th with two class times to choose from:
